2009 Morven Park Fall Horse Trials
Leesburg, VA
October 2-4, 2009

The Morven Park Horse Trials was a good final prep before the Fair Hill International three-day event. Will worked out some of the kinks out at Morven Park and feels prepared for the CCI** next week at Fair Hill with Mr. McWhinney It was also a good final run for the year for the other horses. "We know what to work on for the winter and are very excited for next year," said Will Faudree.

Will Faudree and Pawlow (Ernie P. Mosing) finished ninth in the CIC Three Star division at 2009 Richland Park Horse Trial in Richland, Michigan. The duo used this event as a final run before heading to England in a week for the Blenheim Horse Trials.

"I was very pleased with how Ernie handled the course," said Will Faudree. "He was clear in cross country and stadium. Time was not a goal for this event, having a solid run was and he was amazing. He's ready for Blenheim."

Faudree was also complimentary of the course and the event management. "They were wonderful to the competitors and extremely well-organized," said Faudree. "It was an excellent competition."

Faudree and Ernie fly out to Blenheim on August 31. Once there they will have eight days to prepare for the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials September 10 –13. Ernie's owner, Jennifer Mosing, is attending the event as well.

Jersey Fresh
The Horse Park of New Jersey
May 11, 2009

Pawlow (Ernie P. Mosing) did his first CCI3* at Jersey Fresh this past weekend. "He was amazing," said Will Faudree. "He was green at this level when he started the event and when he finished he was a better horse for it. He's got it."

Ernie finished 10th out of field of nearly 30, achieving Will's goal of finishing in the top 10. Nearly a third of the field was eliminated or withdrew. The tough 10 minute 30 second course was well over the 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 minute course that Ernie and more of the horses were used to. No one finished without time faults.

"We had one ABC combination at around the 8 1/2 minute mark that we had a mistake," said Faudree. "At the end of an event they tend to get a bit tired, so you ride with what you have. We had a bit of a communication issue and Ernie tipped a toe, so we had to circle and crossed our path to set up for the next obstacle in the combination. He never hesitated. He was amazing."

Dressage and show jumping were amazing, according to Will. Will says that Ernie is a big-time horse and it's exciting to be a part of his career. Captain Mark Phillips and the team selectors stopped by to see Ernie and meet his owner, Jennifer Mosing of Sterling Silver Stables.

McGlade was withdrawn after dressage because he cut his eyelid in his stall the evening before the cross country. He's fine now and enjoyed his ride home in the a horse limousine - Sterling Silver Stables Equine Motorcoach.

Team Will Faudree and the horses traveled to Jersey Fresh in an Equine Motorcoach on loan from Sterling Silver Stables. Jennifer Mosing joined the crew mid-week to watch her horse, Ernie, run his first CCI3* and celebrate Mother's Day. Her family gave her the time off as a present for a much needed vacation.

The crew dined on steaks, pasta and shish kabobs, among other meals. Jennifer took a nap every day in the Coach. Will said he and the horses think "this is the only way to travel." "The horses walked off the Equine Motorcoach like they were walking out of their stalls," said Faudree.

Fair Hill International Horse Trials
April 17-19, 2009
Elkton, Maryland

Will Faudree and Pawlow (aka Ernie P. Mosing) placed third in their third outing at the Advanced level. Will challenged Ernie by riding the more difficult options. Will said Ernie handled the cross country course with ease and was up for jumping the more difficult options. The pair finished with a double-clear on cross country and show jumping.

Will's post-event analysis tells us that Ernie is progressing on schedule in his training and competition. We do know that Ernie thought he was "Houdini" and escaped three times from his stall. The closed stall door was cleverly opened by the intelligent Ernie. New stall guards with Will's new logo are on the way to make sure Ernie stays in his stall to rest between rounds. Truly the sign of an extraordinary horse and athlete is how he handles the training, competitions and all of the time in between. So far, everyone is having a blast.

Will also finished 5th on Dinero, a horse that he is riding for Bobby Costello at the Preliminary level.

Pine Top Advanced Horse Trials
Advanced Results
Thomson, Georgia
February 27 - March 1, 2009

Will Faudree and Pawlow, "Ernie", completed their first Advanced Level event together. The day one dressage and show jumping portion was run under what the Weather Channel called "potentially drought ending rains" for northern Georgia. If that wasn't enough of a weather event, the only horse trial cross country component contested was the Advanced Level. The reason is that a snow storm was on the way.

The only place that Will could get on Ernie on Sunday morning was in his stall because the "drought ending" rains had become a deluge.

Will says that Ernie never thought twice about the size of the jumps, the increase in technical questions or running in bad weather. "He was awesome," said Faudree. "Usually you can expect a horse half way around its first advanced cross country course to question what's coming up. Not Ernie, he just kept cantering along jumping one obstacle after another."

Faudree was careful not to make the pace too quick because of the difficult weather conditions. The pair placed second.

Thomson, Georgia
February 14-15, 2009

Pawlow, aka Ernie P. Mosing, and Will Faudree topped the leader board at the Pine Top Farm Horse Trials at Open Intermediate. Faudree was pleased with Ernie's outing and said "he came out of the start box for cross country and was all business."

The pair finished third in dressage, despite a photographer opening their umbrella in the middle of Ernie's test. They went clean in both stadium and show jumping. Their test was so super that the incident resulted in only a three point deduction.

Faudree plans to return to Pine Top Farm in two weeks and move Ernie up to the Advanced Level.

Will Faudree and Pawlow (aka Ernie) finished their first outing of the year in first place at Open Intermediate. The pair completed their dressage test in 26 degree weather and were clean on cross country and stadium.

Ernie's owner, Jennifer Mosing, surprised Will Faudree by arriving from Louisiana in plenty of time to watch the competition. Faudree's affectionately referring to Pawlow as "Ernie P. Mosing" these days. He is great at keeping Jennifer up to date on Ernie's training, often calling her while he's in the tack.
